Hammer welcomed attendees at The M&A Advisor's 2023 Distressed Investing Summit in Palm Beach, Florida and moderated a panel on successful turnaround stories featuring Geoffrey Richards of Raymond James, Jacob Vogel of TekModo, John Caple of Hidden Harbor Capital Partners and Peter Vauthy of RED South Beach. Aaron was also honored with The M&A Advisor's Turnaround Award “Legal Advisor of the Year” at the Awards Gala.

On February 3, 2023, The M&A Advisor announced the winners of its 17^th Annual Turnaround Awards. Aaron Hammer was named “Legal Advisor of the Year” for his extraordinary track record of client representations, including many notable recent transactions and disputes resolved, and lifelong contributions to the turnaround industry. The award will be presented at a Black-Tie Awards Gala on Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida.

The M&A Advisor announced the winners of the 16th Annual Turnaround Awards on May 31, 2022. Aaron Hammer and his HMB Legal Counsel team have been named winners of the Out-of-Court Restructuring Deal of the Year. The team was recognized for its representation of Europa Sports Products, LLC in its successful sale to Europa Sports Partners, LLC. Awards will be presented at a Black-Tie Gala on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, in New York City.

Aaron L. Hammer, Chair of HMB’s Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditors’ Rights practice, expects U.S. corporate bankruptcies to remain low until late 2022 or 2023.  According to S&P Global Market Intelligence data, filings rose sequentially in December, with 40 companies entering bankruptcy proceedings in comparison to 18 in November. But the uptick is not an indication that corporate bankruptcy filings will increase in the immediate future, said Aaron.
