Aaron L. Hammer featured in lead restaurant industry trade publication on Quiznos and Sbarro bankruptcies

On March 31, 2014, QSR Magazine, a lead restaurant industry trade publication, published an article entitled, "Quiznos & Sbarro: What Went Wrong?" 

Therein, the author looks to the opinion of Aaron L. Hammer, leader of Sugar Felsenthal Grais & Hammer's national Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditor's Rights practice group.  In contemplation of the rash of restaurant related bankruptcy filings, Hammer notes "[t]hese types of companies are over-leveraged.  The initial borrowing was too high, plus there are cost pressures . . . The capital structure that was set years ago might not work today."

Hammer has and continues to actively participate in numerous restaurant and fast food related bankruptcies, including: In re Duke and King Acquisition Corp., et al. (Bankr. D. Minn.); In re Buffets Restaurants Holdings, Inc., et al. (Bankr. D. Del.); In re Wagstaff Minnesota Inc., et al. (Bankr. D. Minn.); and In re Giordano's Enterprises, Inc., et al. (Bankr. N.D. Ill.).
